Attitude of Gratitude Day 4:  I am grateful for Bill Maher.  No one can so eloquently shut down a babbling idiot the way he can.

Remember, JUST BECAUSE YOU SAY SOMETHING IS TRUE DOES NOT MAKE IT SO.

Attitude of Gratitude Day 3:  I am grateful to be a member of the GMCW family.

Favorite Red and Greene concert moments:
1. Dancing with so many dedicated friends, and feeling the support of our singing brothers behind us.
2. Standing off-stage in the wings preparing to dance, and listening to the Chorus sing any given song.  If I hadn't had mascara on, I would have let the tears fall.
3. Singing with the Chorus in the three numbers that I could make it on stage for.  Nothing makes me more proud than to stand shoulder to shoulder with these men, and lend my voice to the beauty orchestrated by Jeff Buhrman.  How can so many voices sing so softly and tenderly?
4. Warming up with the chorus, and looking at all the faces that make up this family.
5. Singing with Potomac Fever.  The love we share off-stage shines through when we join together in song.

Attitude of Gratitude Day 2:  As much as I often despise working, I am glad to have a well-paying full-time job.

I was listening to what I had always thought of as an inane Christmas Carol last night:

Here Comes Santa Claus
Music and Lyrics by Gene Autry and Oakley Haldeman

Santa Claus Is Comin' To Town
Music by J. Fred Coots
Lyrics by Haven Gillespie

Here comes Santa Claus! Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer are
Pulling on the rein,
Bells are ringing, Children are singing,
All is merry and bright
Hang your stockings and say your prayers,

WAIT!!!  What?  Say your prayers?  To whom?  Santa?  Jesus?  For what?  Toys?

'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight

Here comes Santa Claus! Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!...
He's got a bag that is filled with toys for the
Boys and girls again

Hear those sleigh bells jingle jangle,
What a beautiful sight
Jump in bed, cover up your head,
'Cause Santa Claus comes tonight!

Here comes Santa Claus! Here comes Santa Claus!
Right down Santa Claus Lane!
He doesn't care if you're rich or poor for he loves
You just the same
Santa knows that we're all God's children,
That makes everything right

WAIT!!!  So what you are saying is that Santa, a fictional being, knows that we are the sons and daughters of another fictional being?  How does this make everything right?  What do God and Santa Claus have to do with each other?

Fill your hearts with Christmas cheer...

I guess my point is that if "Jesus is the reason for the season," why do we need to teach our children to believe that Santa Claus and God are "tight." Personally, I think we just need to stop ALL the fairy tales once and for all.

I am troubled by the sheer corruption of some persons.  Don't they know that it will eventually catch up with them?  These are seemingly intelligent members of our community committing outlandish acts of thievery on others.  Is greed really that strong for some people that they don't care about the repercussions of their behavior?

Attitude of Gratitude Day 1:  I am thankful to have parents that love me no matter what.  They just got email, and they are in their seventies!  They called me a few nights ago to ask me some questions, and were squabbling like two kids over it.  Apparently my dad doesn't like to share...  (So THAT'S where I get it!  ;))  I love my parents with all my being.  They have always done the best they could in every situation, and really went further than was even possible to help all of us kids out.  They are amazing people, and I'm proud to be their son.

Sometimes all it takes is a liiiiiiiittle push...

Some days lunch can't come fast enough...
